Abstract
Reconstructing Religious Thought and its Impact
on Shi`i Political Discourse in Contemporary Iran

Reconstruction of religious thought is a main Component of religion _ political discourse in contemporary Iran and reflects a long-Standing aspiration to revive religion and to make it more amenable to contemporary human needs. Reconstruction involves defining a broader political and Social role for religion, adapting religious thought to requirements of time, and utilizing potentials inherent in religion the tight against internal despotism and external domination. Expanding in the Scope of this reconstruction, has been a major turning Point in Shi`I Political discourse and Practice.
In this article, the issue of reconstruction of Shi`I thought and its impact on contemporary Shi`I Political thought is addressed in light of Morteza Motahari’s work and views on reconstruction of religious thought.
